Bideford AFC secured their first win of the FA Cup campaign with a scrappy but convincing win over Keynsham Town this afternoon to progress through to meet Street or Chard in the next round on the 30th of this month.

Bideford dominated the first half, giving Keynsham no room for manoeuvre, it took 29 minutes to score the first when a Shaun Lewis cross met Ellis Laights foot for a tap in that beat the keeper from a few yards out.

They grey sky clouded the pitch and the rain was spitting for most of the first half and after 41 minutes a brilliant Hawkins cross left the Keynsham goalkeeper in trouble and Tom Stocco finished niceley on his head to make it 2 - 0. This is how the first half ended, Bideford were playing far from convincing football, but they were getting the job done. Keynsham had few chances or real possession in the first half.

The second half kicked off and it took 12 minutes for Bideford to make it 3 - 0, after Shaun Lewis grabbed his second competitive goal for the club.

75 minutes into the fixture, Keynsham player, Ryan Bernard slotted in a neat goal for the away visitors.

Downing came close to to scoring after 82 minutes, but the Keynsham keeper denied him after a great save, pushing the ball out for a corner. Barker took the corner, and Ellis Laight made it 4 - 1 from his head.

Matt Downing took a knock with 2 minutes to go, and limped off the pitch with a left achilles problem, the extent of his injury is yet unknown, and was taken to casulty shortly after the game.

Keynsham made it 4 - 2 after Robbie Herrera conceded a penalty in the last minute of extra time, once again Bernard slotted the ball down the centre to beat Griffiths from the spot.
