The Reserves second pre season friendly ended in defeat away to fellow senior league side Kilkhampton

The Robins preparations were hampered due to work commitments, meaning no pre match warm up, despite this the Robins bossed the first half, with 16 year old Jack Langford pulling the strings from midfield the robins created plenty of chances the best falling to Langford who shot straight at the keeper from 8 yards following a cross from Danny Brown, the robins continued to boss the first half but couldn’t find away pass the home keeper.

Playing down the slope the home side took the lead in the opening minutes of the second Half when the Robins lost possession on the half way line and the home team broke away to score via a deflection off a Bideford defender and the lead was increased 20 minutes later when the robins failed to clear their lines giving a Home player a clear shot at goal, this goal stunned the young side who after dominating lots of  the play found themselves two goals behind ,but after a 10 minute spell in which the home hit the cross bar the robins got there game back together and were unlucky not to reduce the lead when Langford had another opportunity but headed just wide, the robins did eventually reduce the lead with virtually the last kick of the game when Danny Brown got himself free in the box and scored .

Despite losing there were more positives then negatives for the young side to take in to their next friendly at Home to Devon Intermediate Cup Holders Buckland Athletic Reserves on Saturday
